This CHIASM is a contrast between those who practice hypocrisy, seen on the X element which is verse 6C, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin, seen in the concluding summary which is verse 7C. The emphasis is:
1) The CENTER POINT reveals the problem with being a hypocrite, for our walk then does not match what we say.
2) The CONCLUDING SUMMARY does not say that having fellowship with one another then cleanses us by His blood. Rather it is comarable to and antithetical with the center point: if our words about our fellowship match our walk, then we can say we have been cleansed.
3) The emphasis of the PARALLEL SYMMETRY is in the CENTER portion (verse 9): confess, forgiven, and cleansed.
