This CHIASM is a brief display of David′s confidence in the LORD. There are two or possibly three points of emphasis:

1) The INTRODUCTORY SUMMARY identifies David′s confidence that he can fight and defeat Goliath.

2) The CENTER POINT compares Goliath with the lion and bear that attacked a lamb while he was a shepherd. David was claiming victory over Goliath despite his youth.

3) The FIRST/LAST elements, that is A and A′, comprise an emphasis. Saul had a change of heart when he commanded David to attack Goliath as seen by the IMPERATIVE word Go.
