Pattern Analysis for Psalm 146:1-10

Pattern Analysis Methodology

He Who Trusts the LORD Will Praise Him

Webpage adjusted for smaller screen width.

Rhetoric

This IMMEDIATE REPETITION stresses why we praise the Lord.

1) The two FRAME elements carry an emphasis by calling the reader to praise the Lord.

2) The reasons for praising the Lord are emphasized in the B elements. That is, the B′ element is an AMPLIFICATION of B by a REPETITION of the word Who, pointing to why the Lord is worthy.

3) The CLOSING SUMMARY is a REPETITION of seven ways of the Lord. None of these attributes are more important than the other. The end of that list, that is the SUBSTRUCTURE SUMMARY in verse 10A, concludes with an eighth way: The Lord will reign forever.
